Protecting Your Personal Information
In 2001, the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) issued guidance on Authentication in an Electronic Banking Environment (2001 Guidance). In an FFIEC article entitled “Authentication in an Internet Banking Environment”, the 2001 Guidance focused on risk management controls necessary to authenticate the identity of retail and commercial customers accessing Internet-based financial services.
The article goes on to say that account fraud and identity theft are frequently the result of single-factor authentication (i.e. ID/password). Since it was determined that single-factor authentication was inadequate, multi-factor authentication, layered security, or other controls reasonably calculated to mitigate those risks should be implemented.
We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of your personal information. As part of this effort, effective May 1, 2008, we enhanced the security of the bank’s website by introducing a new login process for our customers. You will be asked to select a site image and login phrase for your Internet Banking account. This site image and login phrase will be displayed each time you access your account in the future. When you see this image, you’ll know you are on the authentic pinnaclebancshares.com website.
